Samrat Chakrabarti

Samrat Chakrabarti:Raj Singh
Samrat Chakrabarti holds a master’s of fine arts in acting from the A.R.T./MXAT Training program at Harvard University, where he played in several productions, including "Othello", "Marat/Sade","Tartuffe", "The Island of nyplace" and "Spring Awakening". He was recently seen at the Missouri Repertory Theatre playing the role of Nirad Das in Tom Stoppard’s "Indian Ink." Other stage credits include: "Tale of the Allergist's wife", "King Lear", and "Man of La Mancha". His television and film credits include: The Sopranos, Leonardo Ricagni's "Indocumentados", Leif Husted-Jansen's "In the Can" (2002 Newport Film Festival), and Spike Lee's upcoming film "She Hate Me". In addition to acting, Samrat has been involved with several music projects including Hyannis Sound in Cape Cod, Jyde in St. Thomas, USVI, and Five O'Clock Shadow in Boston.

 

Manvi Dhoopar
  Manvi Dhoopar: Shawna
Maanvi Dhoopar is making her debut in Arya, She always desired to be an actress it only came true when the producer Mr. Malik saw her photographs and decided that she would be the Shawana for his new film Arya. She has also acted in one of the regional films “"Zakham Dilah de". More projects are lined up for this talented music lover actress in the Bollywood industry and is busy shooting in India.

 

Sheetal Shah

Sheetal Shah: Shilpa
Shetal Shah is a native New Yorker who has received her training at the Stella Adler Studios and the Creative Acting Company. When Shetal is not acting, she is writing poetry, directing films, teaching and dancing. She is a firm believer that change can and will happen one human at a time. For this reason, she has founded a non-profit organization called If? that focuses on self-awareness through filmmaking. Shetal continues to participate weekly in the monologue open mic, Collage, at the Village Lantern, and at poetry slams throughout the city. Shetal is currently rehearsing for the play, Sacrifice, written by R. Tagore, soon to be performed at the Theater for the New City.

 

Tirlok Malik


Tirlok Malik: Om Dutt
Malik’s acting career has really proven to be a multicultural portrait He has played about 40 different characters ranging from an estranged husband to a political leader, to a lawyer, taxi driver. To name a few, he has acted as Lala Lajpatrai in Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, played a lead role as a workaholic husband in Love, Lust and Marriage, a doctor in Rajkumar Santoshi’s Lajja. He has also acted in several off-Broadway plays such as the ‘Hot’l Baltimore’ and ‘The Indian Wants the Bronx’ and modeled in commercials.

 

Manan Katohora

Manan Katohora: Nick
Manan Katohora - Arya is his 3rd gig as an actor. He has acted before in Manish Gupta's Indian Fish in American Waters and Raj Nidimoru's FLAVORS. He was also recently seen on Z-Tv in a PSA ad with Purva Bedi [of American Desi fame].


 

Sonny Suri

Sonny Suri: Sunny
Sonny was born and brought up in New Delhi where he pursued his acting on stage in school years. Brought his interest with him to America,. when he came here to pursue his Engineering . He acted in plays like "Bagaiya Bacha Ram Ki" (Played a double role) and "Sandhya Chaaya" directed by noted Umesh Agnihotri He acted as a lead in Raj’s suspense thriller, Aaghat and his another movie “Wings Of Hope” "Modh-The turn", a movie made by an Independent moviemaker in Fairfax Virginia. Sonny’s aspiration is to not only be a good actor but a good coordinator in making films. In association with Apple productions Sonny is the Associate Producer of Arya and also plays an active character in Arya. Currently, he is involved in acting in a skit being shot in Virginia which will be aired on local television shows.

 

Rajan Gangahar: Gupta
A Diploma holder from Chandigarh Film Institute, Rajan promoted the Third Theater movement in Northern India. Having won rich accolades from the press for directing well received plays, including a Hindi translation of Oscar Wilde's "The Importance Of Being Ernest", Rajan is currently involved with Indian humorist Jaspal Bhatti in producing a miniseries featuring a humorous look at the life of Indians in New York City.
